Saving $$$ in Portland and beyond
A friend of mine told me about this really great blog called "Around the Sun".

Each Friday they post deals and free stuff going on around Portland and the NW. I've been checking it out for a couple of weeks now and it's given me a lot of ideas for stuff to do in PDX for free....movies, music, food deals, etc. They have a great "links" page too. Check it out!

Since we're talking about reducing and reusing how about closing the loop by recycling too? This site will send you a pre-paid envelop in which you can drop your old, dusty cell phone into and mail to the Environmental Media Association for recycling. As it turns out, some parts of cell phones are toxic. The EMA uses your old donated phone to raise money for further earth saving efforts!

For more ideas on activties in your area check out this site. It allows you to browse by category and search key words. Anyone can login and post an event
Got something you would like to get rid of but is still usable? And maybe it's not a Goodwill type of item? Don't feel guilty about throwing anything out again! This site is much like craigslist, except for EVERYTHING is free and usually the person taking the posted item has to haul it away. Check it out
